Mr. Weiss’ transactional practice focuses on television and motion production and finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and compliance and trademark and copyright registrations and licensing. Mr. Weiss has expertise in motion picture finance and secured creditor transactions and he has represented clients on more than fifty produced feature films.
Mr. Weiss is a seasoned negotiator in all media transactions and he is experienced in the representation of directors, writers and actors; television and feature production and distribution agreements; recording and songwriter agreements; and book publishing agreements.
Mr. Weiss represents clients in Merger and Acquisition transactions, frequently including the sale or purchase of restaurants in the Los Angeles area.
During the course of Mr. Weiss’ litigation practice, he has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in more than one hundred litigations with amounts in controversy in the tens of millions of dollars. Mr. Weiss’ primary litigation practice areas include trademark and copyright infringement, invasion of privacy matters, labor and employment, breach of contract, wills and trusts, bankruptcy, securities fraud, business divorces and business torts.
